Mako’s First Christmas

A free Helen & Hounds short story

It’s the week before Christmas in Maplewood, and Hattie Brenneman’s famous fruitcake has vanished from the church Christmas Bazaar. All the evidence points to a certain chocolate Lab puppy with gingerbread crumbs on his nose. Helen knows Mako didn’t do it. Now she just has to prove it before the auction.
